I was the varsity setter for Floresville High school four years in a row, I then moved on to play three years at Angelo State University where I played defense specalist/libero, freshman year we made it to the elite eight. I've had 8 years of club experience, most of those years I played above my age. I've had 5 years of coaching experience.

I am originally from San Antonio, but moved to Floresville going into 8th grade. Both my parents played volleyball, my mom played for John Jay High School and went to the state finals her Junior and senior year. My dad played competitively for 25 years. I have a 13 year old sister that plays for the 7th grade A team at Floresville Middle School. My cousins played volleyball and so did my aunts. We are basically a family full of volleyball players.
I played Beach volleyball professionally from 95 to 98. After High School in 92 I moved to California and was able to train with a couple professional athletes and spent the next 6 years trying to qualify for the AVP and earn enough money during the summers to work part time in the fall so I could train for the next season.
In 1998 I was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy and playing career was over. I continued playing for a couple years but not at the level I once was. I started working with Autistic kids in 2001 during the summers at camps. Couple years later I began my coaching career. Volleyball has been very good to me, it’s given me the opportunity to travel all over the world, I am very excited to continue growing the game with STVA.
Bio-mechanics and physical cues, being one of the older coaches I do not possess the same physical agility as some of our coaches but have learned to make up for it by watching and learning playing styles. This helps cut your reaction time and being in the right place at the right time.
